26 Weeks

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 17 pounds
Maternity clothes? Lots of dresses and maternity leggings this week.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet. . .
Sleep: Overall good.  Occasionally I wake up feeling a little sore and not as well rested.
Symptoms: I started feeling achy this week.  Although I still get some round ligament pain, I'm starting to feel the overall stretching and achy pulls.
Miss anything: Aerosol hairspray.  Jon banned aerosol products during pregnancy so I have been using a spray top version. :(
Movement: Although I feel movement throughout the day, the baby is certainly more active at night between 9:30 and 10:00.
Food cravings: No cravings . . . but I am enjoying the Nature Valley Sweet and Salty Cashew bars.  I had one for first time a month ago and I have been enjoying them as a treat during lunch.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Sugar is beginning to give me indigestion.  I guess the baby doesn't have as big of a sweet tooth as mom and dad.
Gender Prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. :)
Best Moment of the Week: The wait is over!!! Jon passed the bar and is currently in the process of being admitted to the Washington State Bar Association.
Looking forward to: A sunny week and weekend ahead!  Hopefully we can finally get the crib painted.

Spring Break!!!

Visiting California to see our dear friends Deane and Brian has become like a second home for us.  As such, we have gotten very lazy with taking pictures. . . below you will see a few highlights from our spring Cali trip.

We left Thursday evening after I rushed home from school.  We drove for about 9 hours, before I hit my limit.  Usually I am a good passenger . . . we used to drive from Port Orchard to San Diego in one day.  However, the extra baby weight certainly made for an uncomfortable ride.  I was experiencing lower back pain and felt like I was sitting on needles.  Ugh!  We had to stop and we spent the night in Redding.

Friday morning we woke up and drove the 2 1/2 hours to El Dorado Hills.  Shortly after arriving, it was decided we were going on the boat for the day.  What a beautiful day to spend on the lake.  It was 82 degrees and oh so relaxing.  So relaxing I ended up laying on my back in the sun for a good 30 minutes before I remembered that I should not be laying flat on my back.  Oops!

Saturday morning Jon and I woke up and went to Starbucks for our morning coffee.  On the way back home, we stopped at a neighborhood garage sale.  We love garage sales and since it is still rainy in Washington garage sale season hasn't really begun.  We walked around with Meesha for an hour before heading home.  Jon found a skateboard for $5 and I found an amazing drying rack for $3.  We have been in the market for one since we decided on cloth diapers.

After returning home, we headed to San Francisco to meet up with our friends Nicole and Ryan.  We haven't seen Ryan since we lived in San Diego, she lives in North Carolina and happened to be in Cali visiting family at the same time.  We met up with Nicole at the Embarcadero for the farmer's market before heading to the Academy of Sciences.  Then, we met up with Ryan to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.  We ended our day with dinner at the Cliff House.  This is where I learned that butter and I are not friends.

{ It was so windy before our walk }

On Sunday we had a boy day and a girl day.  The boys went to an outdoor shooting range and the girls went to the outlet mall for a little shopping.  I guess going to the shooting range when you are pregnant is not recommended.

On Monday our friend Ryan came over to visit with her son Hugh.  We spent the day planting Denae's vegetable garden before the thunder storm and rain rolled in.  As the storm passed we relaxed and watched a movie.  The storm made for some beautiful sunset pictures.

Tuesday was our last day in California.  We went with Brian and Denae to their gender reveal ultrasound!  It was exciting to experience this moment with them.  What a great way to end a wonderful weekend!

Luckily the car trip home was much more enjoyable.  I knew what to expect and I made sure to provide myself with extra comfort.  We made it home in 11 hours . . . no stopping this time.  :)

25 Weeks

{Just Kidding . . . the baby weighs about a pound and a half. }

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 16 pounds
Maternity clothes? Lots of maxi dresses this week.
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Sleeping great!
Symptoms: I began to feel "pregnant" this week.  Since we have returned home from Cali I have felt sore, uncomfortable, and huge.  I think it's because I have time off to focus on these symptoms.  Once I get back into a routine I'm hoping the focus will shift.
Miss anything: Being comfortable. . . specifically laying on my back and stomach.
Movement: This baby is kicking!  The movement has become stronger and more frequent.  I am beginning to feel every twist and turn.
Food cravings: I craved nothing this week.  In fact, I had no interest in food this week so Jon had to choose every meal.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Butter. . . I get awful indigestion after eating any amount of butter.
Gender Prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Still on :)
Happy or Moody most of the time: For the first half of the week I was happy, but for the last three days I have been moody.
Best Moment of the Week: Washing all of the baby clothes I purchased during a shopping trip in Cali.  They are so tiny and look so adorable hung in the baby's closet.
Looking forward to: Our house getting put back together.  The carpet and trim are done, but now our kitchen is torn apart for new countertops.  I can't wait until our house is clean and organized again!

24 Weeks

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 14 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still mixing the two . . . I got bored of wearing leggings so my belly band has become very useful this week.
Stretch marks? Still none
Sleep: Sleeping great . . . as long as I don't fall asleep on my right side {see below}
Symptoms: My round ligament pain is back.  There is definitely a lot of stretching going on.  If I fall asleep on my right side, something gets pinched and I wake up with my right thigh cramping.  Luckily turing onto my left (even while sleeping) has become second nature.
Miss anything: The ability to sit for extended periods of time.  I never realized how little I sit while teaching . . . if I sit for more than 30 minutes I start having lower back pain.  The 12+ hour drive down to Cali was awful!  I made Jon stop to sleep because I couldn't sit any longer.
Movement: This baby is moving around and becoming more responsive to outside touch {ie: Meesha jumping on my belly or Jon playing with it}
Food cravings: Not necessarily a craving . . .  but for the first time, in a long while, I smelled a hamburger and thought it smelled good.  I didn't want to eat it but, it was weird that it actually smelled appetizing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Butter. . .  I ate clams with butter and garlic sauce the other night.  I forgot how little butter we cook with and my tummy was not happy about the oversight.
Gender Prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On . . . but my fingers and feet are beginning to show signs of swelling in the evening.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! :) I had a good week at work and I am now on spring break.
Best Moment of the Week: This is the week to announce you are pregnant . . . we are finding out left and right that friends are expecting babies this fall.  How exciting that our little one will have so many playmates!
Looking forward to: Continuing to relax and enjoy the company of our Cali friends.  Oh yeah and my birthday. . .  28 is going to be a good year! :)

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 13 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still a mixture. . . I have been wearing a lot of pre-pregnancy pants this week.
Stretch marks? Not yet.
Sleep: I was a light sleeper this week. :(
Symptoms: Sore feet and I need to start being more careful when sitting up and turning too quickly.  I have pulled a few muscles this week doing silly things.
Miss anything: Easter candy and I were best friends last week, so this week I am trying to avoid it.
Movement: Yes.  I felt the baby's hiccups for the first time this week . . . as well as lots of kicking.
Food cravings: Candy . . . Jon and I LOVE Easter candy.  I'm trying to cut ties before it becomes a problem.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender Prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I was grumpy this week . . . at school.  At home I was exhausted from working and prepping for new carpets.
Best Moment of the Week/Looking forward to: Finding out that our friends are expecting a baby at the end of September.  I can't wait to see them at the end of the week! :)
