Our Story

Without going into too many details, here is our baby story. . .

Being a first year teacher we knew there was a small window of opportunity to welcome our bundle of joy without interfering with school.  Ready to expect a baby in June, I started "planning" what our holiday announcement cards would look like.  I waited 3 extra days to take the test . . . "not pregnant"  The next morning I had a visitor.  Sadly, October was not our lucky month. :(

Then, November rolled around.  This time I was determined not to take a test too soon.  { although really it wasn't too soon in October, my body was just stubborn. }  Either way I waited and was going to wait until we got home from Thanksgiving Break.  However, on Thanksgiving when I wasn't enjoying an evening in the hot tub { just in case }  I was bored and decided to take a test . . .  2 lines!!! With 3 sticks at my disposable I took another test . . . 2 more lines!  I wrapped up the tests and surprised Jon in the morning with an early Christmas gift.  :)

{ Some Already Knew . . .  }

The day after I was supposed to have my period, Jon received a text message from his younger sister informing us that she had a dream we were pregnant.  Determined not to rejoice until the test, my only response was "I wish . . ."

After announcing our pregnancy to Jon's family, his brother in New York informed us that he had a dream in November that we were pregnant . . .  his wife then proceeded to inform us she has known for months. :)

Finally, while I was at a baby shower just days after taking the test . . . my dear friend's sister was convinced I was pregnant . . . no symptoms, not showing, nothing. Wow!

Exciting News!

We are going to be the proud owners of our very own Mini Cooper!!! Come July 2013 {hopefully not August 2013} our lives will forever change when we welcome our first baby!

So far the hardest part of the pregnancy has been keeping this secret from our family and friends. Luckily I have been blessed with no morning sickness, minimal aversions to food and minor weight gain.  Unfortunately, the weeks leading up to the holidays were exhausting as my students were draining any ounce of energy I had in my body. . . however, I quickly learned the art of a power nap. :)

We are looking forward to seeing what 2013 has in store for us and we are excited to share our journey with you!
